So today we discovered that we have a real, live badger living on our property. It was fun to watch him roll around in the sun for about an hour this afternoon. They're supposed to be very beneficial for ridding your property of gophers, ground squirrels & rattle snakes. We'll be keeping a close eye on Zoey!

I'm not sure I've ever seen a badger in real life. Is he friendly, or does he keep to himself?

Badgers! Badgers! We don't need no stinkin badgers!*
I know you were all thinking it, so I had to write that.

Anyway, that's fun! Definitely watch Zoey though, and in case it can get in at night...maybe Korina too. haha

*The original quotation comes from the 1948 film The Treasure of the Sierra Madre with Humphrey Bogart. In one of the scenes in the movie a Mexican bandit leader is trying to convince Fred C Dobbs (played by Bogart) and company that they are the Federales.

Dobbs: 'If you're the police where are your badges?'
Gold Hat: 'Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinkin' badges!'[1]

I'd never seen a real badger either. I'm not sure that they have ever been called friendly, so let's just hope that he keeps to himself.

Wow, Brooke. Thanks for all the background details. =]
